Number of guests

See Austin from the water, with a little room to follow your curiosity.

This private daytime outing on Lady Bird Lake brings your group together aboard our giant paddle board for skyline views, local wildlife, and stories that make the city feel a little more familiar. Your Echos of Texas guide shares Austin history, lake ecology, and the fascinating story of the Congress Avenue Bridge bats—with time to ask questions, take photos, and enjoy being outside together.

The starting price of $150 covers three guests. Select your group size, then purchase quantity 1 for that group. The displayed price covers your whole selected group and a private guided outing; no separate Private Tour upgrade is required.

Make the Day Your Own

Tell us what interests your group, and we’ll shape the approximately 2.5-hour outing around it:

  • City & Stories: Downtown views, historic bridges, Austin history, and the story of the bat colony.
  • Wildlife & Quiet Water: A slower pace, shoreline habitats, and watching for birds and turtles.
  • A Little of Everything: A mix of city stories, wildlife, photo stops, and time to relax.

Your interests help guide the experience; your guide chooses a suitable route within our operating area based on weather, lake conditions, access, and available time. Specific destinations and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Daytime tours include stories and facts about the bats, not a scheduled bat emergence. If watching the emergence is your priority, choose our dedicated sunset bat experience.

Your Time on the Water

Guests help paddle on the way out, then enjoy a quiet electric motor-assisted return. Everyone rides aboard a giant paddle board with the guide; individual paddle boards and inner tubes are not part of this experience.

Each board accommodates up to four guests plus a guide. Larger groups require a second board and suitable guide arrangements, coordinated when scheduling. Your guided outing is private, while the shop, launch area, and lake remain shared spaces.

What’s Included

  • Approximately 2.5-hour private guided lake adventure
  • Giant paddle board, paddles, and an electric motor-assisted return
  • Life jackets and required safety equipment
  • Light appetizers, nonalcoholic drinks, and bottled water
  • A guide sharing Austin history, bat stories, lake ecology, and wildlife information
  • One guaranteed group photo per booking party
  • Additional tour photos and videos, when available, through a shared Google Drive

Getting to the Water

Meet at Live Love Paddle 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time, unless we communicate different instructions. Your date and daytime departure time will be arranged once presale booking opens.

A Few Things to Bring Along

  • Comfortable, quick-dry clothing or a swimsuit—your seat and feet may get wet
  • Secure water-friendly footwear
  • Sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and sunglasses
  • A light layer for cooler weather
  • A change of clothes and towel to leave ashore
  • A dry bag or waterproof phone bag for anything you bring onto the lake

Phones, cameras, and other belongings brought onto the water are at your own risk.

Good to Know

No previous paddling experience is required. Your guide will explain the basics before launching. Participants must be comfortable around water and prepared to help paddle; wind can make parts of the outing more demanding. The route may cover approximately three miles, depending on your group’s interests and conditions. This is an on-board experience and does not include swimming or tubing.

How the Presale Works

Presale tours are nonrefundable because proceeds are used to purchase equipment for these experiences. You have until June 30, 2028 to book your presale tour, subject to availability. Booking opens beginning in 2027, and we’ll email you when dates are available.

If we fall short of our goal and cannot cover the remaining amount, we’ll provide the experience using a rented setup that matches the equipment we plan to purchase.

Once your date is booked, please request rescheduling at least 72 hours before the meeting time. Late cancellations and no-shows are nonrefundable. If weather requires us to cancel, we’ll help you reschedule.

Before You Join Us

Like any outdoor water activity, paddling carries risks, including injury, death, and loss of personal property. Each participant must review and sign a waiver before the experience.

We’ll see you on the water.
