Austin Sunset Bat Kayaking Tours Hotel Package

Paddle through the heart of Austin on a guided sunset kayak tour featuring local history, wildlife, skyline views, and the world-famous Congress Avenue Bridge bats. This beginner-friendly adventure includes premium safety equipment, complimentary water, secure lockers, and photos to help you remember the experience.

About the Experience

Experience Austin from the water on a guided sunset kayak adventure that combines nature, history, and one of the city's most iconic wildlife events.

Your journey begins on the shores of Lady Bird Lake, where you'll meet your guide and launch into the calm waters flowing through downtown Austin. As we paddle beneath historic bridges and alongside the city skyline, your guide will share stories about Austin's past, the Colorado River, local wildlife, and the transformation of the city into the cultural hub it is today.

As the sun begins to set, we'll make our way toward the Congress Avenue Bridge, home to the largest urban bat colony in North America. From the water, you'll enjoy a front-row seat as more than a million Mexican free-tailed bats emerge into the evening sky in search of insects across Central Texas.

Designed for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, this approximately 2.5-hour tour covers roughly 3 miles of flat water and is suitable for most fitness levels. Depending on weather conditions and wind, the return paddle may require additional effort, but the pace is relaxed and guided throughout the experience.

Whether you're visiting Austin for the first time or rediscovering your hometown, this tour offers a unique perspective on the city's history, wildlife, and natural beauty.
